Join team BDRC at The Fourth Annual 5K Run for the Kids on
Saturday, August 26, 2017. Proceeds from the race benefit the Childrens Recovery Center of Myrtle Beach. A multi-disciplinary child advocacy center that serves children of Horry & Georgetown Counties in South Carolina.

Since 2010 the Francis Marion Dirt Dash has taken place within the Francis Marion National Forest. The past 7 events have been a blast…but every now and then it is okay to refresh an event and change course…

The 8th Annual Dirt Dash is changing locations! I am excited to report that I am heading to the Middleton Place Woodlands to start fresh with a NEW course (no more out-and-backs…looped courses for all distances!)…NEW distances…LIVE entertainment…and FOOD!!

Camping and LIVE MUSIC!!
Friday before the race (August 25th), enjoy packet pickup at Middleton Place Woodlands (from 4PM until 6:30PM. Packets can also be picked up morning of the race from 0600:0630 at the START/FINISH LINE) and hangout to listen to the evenings live entertainment (band to be announced at a later date closer to the event). If you would like to camp out for the evening, a section of Baileys Field will be left open to campers. Who wouldn’t want to wake up next to the Start/Finish line!

Saturday after the race…
Hangout for the headlining musical act (band to be announced at a later date closer to the event)! Additionally, there will be food available for purchase at the event. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available as well.

Available distances…
New for 2017, distances of 5k, 10k, 13.1 mile and 26.2 mile events are available!

We kick off the morning with the 13.1 and 26.2 mile events at 7:30AM and the 5k and 10k get underway at 8:30AM.

Awards and Finisher Medals!!
There are NO age group awards for this event. All finishers will receive a finishers medal regardless of the distance.
Awards will be handed out to the TOP 5 RUNNERS (male and female) for each distance.

Balega/Fuelbelt/TriggerPoint Demo – 4 of 4 Summer No Frills 5K

Join us for an exciting twist on our weekly social group run.
Our friends from Implus Running will be on hand with a variety of products to test out (Balega Socks, Fuelbelt Hydration and TriggerPoint Massage Therapy) and some great goodies for all participants. We will have refreshments and fun for all. This will also be part of our no frills 5K Summer Series, the first Thursday of each month (June – Sept) we will have a free timed 5K walk/run. Participants who attend 3 of 4 will be awarded a special prize. Great way to track your summer fitness and have some fun along the way with all your running friends. September 16: BFF Pink RibbonRun

RACES: 5K/10K/Double Bling Challenge (run both the 5K and 10K) and Kids’ Fun Run
DATE: September 16, 2017

USATF Certified Courses: 5K: #SC14019DW; 10K: #SC13024DW

Double Bling Challenge! Race participants can choose to participate in both the 5K race and the 10K race. Not only do participants receive a finisher’s medal for the 5K and 10K race but also an additional Double Bling Medal for completing both races. There are only 150 spaces available! Please note: Participants of the Challenge must be able to complete the 5K in under 1 hour.

Race proceeds will benefit local breast cancer charities.

3. Saturday, September 16 beginning at 6:00am at Barefoot Marina (Village Crossing Blvd, North Myrtle Beach, SC)

RACE INFORMATION
Date: Saturday, September 16, 2017
5K Race: 7:00am
10K Race: 8:00am
Kids Fun Run/Tot Trot: 9:30am (approx. time) There is no cost for the Kids’ Fun Run. Report to the finish line at 9:25am. Kids will receive a medal from previous years while supplies last.
Location: Barefoot Resort and Marina, Village Crossing Blvd, North Myrtle Beach, SC
T-shirts available while supplies last for registered 5K/10K/Double Bling race participants

FAQs
1. This is not a closed course and race participants are asked to be aware of their surroundings at all times.
2. Strollers are permitted.
3. Leashed dogs are permitted. Please clean up after your pet.
4. 5K medals guaranteed to the first 450 registrants
5. 10K medals guaranteed to the first 190 registrants
6. Double Bling medals guaranteed to the first 100 registrants

 

November 8-March 3: MB Marathon Training Team

Come join Team Black Dog and train for the 2018 MB Marathon! Team Black Dog will equip you with the tools and knowledge to help you cross the finish line. Taught by certified running coaches and experienced runners with a passion for the sport, participants will receive individual attention and help along this journey.
Prerequisites: Participants must have completed a half marathon within the past year and be able to complete 5 miles by start date along with committing to training 3-5 days a week during the training program.

Training Dates: November 8-March 3
Target Race Date: March 3

Cost: $140.00/participant (does not include race entry fee)

Program Includes:

  • 16 week marathon daily training plan
  • 4 weekly team workouts (2 coach led)
