Team Black Dog MB Marathon Training Program (Race Date: March 3)


Risk Statement:

“Athlete”, in consideration of being permitted to participate in the athletic, running, and conditioning training program with Black Dog Running Company, acknowledge that participation in such a training program can be hazardous to my health and that I have an increased risk of injury by participating in this program.

I agree and understand that I am solely responsible for my health and medical condition, and that it is my sole responsibility to determine my physical and medical fitness to undertake a strenuous training program. I acknowledge that Black Dog Running Company is not a medical doctor and that advice and recommendations of Black Dog Running Company are based upon their training and experience as a runner.

I know that running is a potentially hazardous activity and certify that I am in good health and physically fit to enter into a training program. I acknowledge that I am aware of the many risks involved in athletic training in general and running training specifically, which risks include by way of example and not limitation: 1) minor injuries such as scrapes, bruises, sprains, and strains, 2) more serious injuries such as joint, muscle and bone injuries, concussions, and other head injuries, heat related injuries such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion, dehydration, and over hydration conditions such as hyponatremia, and catastrophic injuries and conditions such as heart attacks and other conditions or injuries which could be fatal.

I accept all inherent risks of participating in the running and conditioning training program. I understand and agree that Black Dog Running Company shall assume no responsibility or liability for me for accident, illness, or loss of, or damage to, personal property resulting from participation in the Black Dog Running Company program.

The forgoing is submitted in consideration of Black Dog Running Company allowing my participation in this training program. I confirm that either I am of adult age or am the parent/guardian of the above listed “Athlete” or I execute this document with full knowledge of the contents and consequences stated in this Agreement.

I understand the program fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Participants under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

I understand that by registering for this event I agree to all of the above.

Come join Team Black Dog and train for the 2018 Myrtle Beach Marathon! Team Black Dog will equip you with the tools and knowledge to help you cross the finish line. Taught by certified running coaches and experienced runners with a passion for the sport, participants will receive individual attention and help along this journey.

*Marathon Training: Participants must have completed a half marathon within the past year and be able to complete 5 miles by start date along with committing to training 3-5 days a week during the training program.
*Half Marathon Training: Participants must be able to complete 5 miles before start date. This can be a combination of run/walk.

Training Dates:
*Marathon Training: November 8-March 3
*Half Marathon Training: December 6-March 3

Target Race Date: March 3

Training Cost:
*Marathon Cost: $140.00/participant (does not include race entry fee)
*Half Marathon Cost: $110.00/participant (does not include race entry fee)

  • Saturdays-6:45am (a few at 6:00am for marathon participants) Long Run (training team members only)

  • Wednesdays-6:30pm Tempo/Speedwork (training team members only)
  • Thursdays-6:30pm Easy Pace Run
